Meet Allyson
Allyson McKinney Timm is an author, speaker, human rights lawyer, Christian faith and justice leader, and visionary advocate for gender equality. For over two and a half decades, she has defended the dignity and rights of women and girls in the United States and globally. Her impact promoting justice, equality, and human rights has spanned the nonprofit, private, and academic sectors. Most recently, she founded and led Justice Revival, where she provided innovative human rights training for churches and seminaries and led an interfaith campaign for the Equal Rights Amendment. Previously, she taught human rights at Yale Law School and led the Uganda field office of International Justice Mission.
A frequent public speaker on gender, faith, women’s rights, and social justice, Allyson’s writing has appeared in Religion News Service, The Christian Century, Sojourners, Baptist News Global, The Independent, and USA Today, among others. In 2022, she published an award-winning essay that led to her forthcoming book, If Women’s Lives Were Sacred: Christianity, Human Rights, and the Struggle for Equal Justice (T&T Clark/Bloomsbury, 2027).
